Open to everyone! New to yoga as well as seasoned yogi’s!
This class is intended to share the benefits of a Kundalini Yoga practice for anyone at any level or physical condition.
Do you feel that you’re too out of shape to do yoga? Or too old to experience a yoga class? Not interested in pretzel poses? More interested in meditation and deep relaxation? Then this class is for you!
For those not familiar with Kundalini Yoga, know that it’s not a posture-based practice. Sure it’s great to be limber and flexible, and stretching does play an important role in maintaining your health, but yoga is more than that. As Yogi Bhajan said “If flexibility was all yoga is about, then all the clowns in the circus would be yogis!”
Yoga is about awareness, intuition, and connection. It’s about personal radiance and personal integrity. These are the qualities one gains by practicing Kundalini Yoga and can even be experienced in a single Kundalini Yoga class!
What to expect…
– Pranayama (breathing)
– Gentle and relaxing yoga matching the breath to body movements
– Lots of meditation, including chanting mantras to build a sound current that vibrates within and around the body
– Extended deep relaxation to the sounds of the gong and crystal bowls

About the Instructor
Sylvia (spiritual name “Charan”) wears many hats — from IT Professional to wife, mother and grandmother. But her passion is Kundalini Yoga and Meditation. After many years searching for self-healing, by practicing various forms of yoga, meditation and energy-related healing modalities, she found that the technology of Kundalini Yoga is what works for her. Her mission is to help others find what she found — deep healing on all levels,stress reduction, peace, and a better quality of life. Having begun her own yoga practice later in life, she feels that yoga can be practiced at any age and flexibility level, and wants to share the many benefits with others. Her specialty is gentle yoga, with inspiring music, meditation and relaxation to the healing sounds of the gong and crystal bowls. Sylvia is an IKYTA certified, RYT-200 yoga teacher, and teaches at Yoga Central on Tuesday evenings 6:30pm.
