Evening Meditation and Gong with Saati

Join Saati to experience the YOU within you through the practice of Kundalini Yoga (the Yoga of Awareness) & Meditation. Thursday evenings are usually light on yoga and deep in meditation. This way, we cultivate a deep strength and neutral, meditative mind attuned to intuitive intelligence.
Each class theme is designed to the serve the need of the group. In Kundalini Yoga, we have thousands of kriyas to call upon in order to heal, balance, elevate, deliver whatever is needed at the moment.
For those who are new to Kundalini Yoga, we incorporate the following into classes:
- MANTRA – sound current/chanting
- PRANAYAM – breathing patterns
- MUDRA – hand positions
- DRISTI – eye gazes
- ASANA – body positions
- BANDAS – body locks
In every class, we begin with an invocation, an attunement to ourselves to a sacred space using the mantra: ONG NAMO GURU DEV NAMO.
We start with warm ups, practice a short Kriya and longer Meditation, then relax into shivasana/deep relaxation with the Gong.
All are welcome – although this is not a beginner’s class

About the Instructor
Satmitar, a native Houstonian, became a certified Kundlini Yoga teacher in Portland, OR in the late 1990’s. By 2001, she began working for Yogi Bhajan in Espanola, NM. For 11 years, she lived in a spiritual community and served in the non-profits established and managed by Yogi Bhajan. Some of her duties included: Director of 3HO’s NGO/Representative to the United Nations, Director of International Peace Prayer Day and the Peace Cereal Grant Philanthropy, Director of Community and Public Relations, President and Vice President of Interfaith LEAP (a local faith based nonprofit) and other positions along the way. Recently, she created an eco-friendly design company and became a consultant for doTerra Essential Oils. Satmitar offers a transformational approach to teaching. She focuses a great deal on the breath, naad yoga (chanting) and meditation. She is grateful to return to her Texan roots and become fast friends with the unique and beloved Kundalini Yoga community in Houston. Satmitar means “True Friend,” and she very much looks forward to meeting y’ all!
