Are you interested in learning about the history and philosophy of Kundalini Yoga? Yogi Bhajan gave us the technology to experience the awakening, moving, and cultivating the Kundalini energy of awareness – this class will explore the foundational roots of that technology as it developed in India.
In this 4-part lecture series, we will dip our toes into the river of history, sit back, and get a glimpse of the bigger picture. Where did this amazing technology come from? Who were the people who developed it? What is the relationship of Kundalini yoga to Sikh Dharma? Each class will focus on the history and philosophy of one or two main practices and will include a short 11-minute meditation related to the weekly themes.
Topics To Be Covered:
Jan. 27th: The Ancient Cosmic Principles – how time, karma, dharma, and the tattvas affect you.
Feb. 3rd: The Tantric Revolution – Buddhists, Hindus, and Goddesses going Left, Right, and Middle.
Feb 10th: Hatha Yoga, Subtle Anatomy, and the “Rainbow Body.”
Feb 17th: Sikh Dharma, Yogi Bhajan, and Kundalini Yoga in the west.

About the Instructor
Pavan Dev Kaur (Jeannette Darcy), BS Computer Engineering, MS Religious Studies, IKYTA certified, RYT-200. Jeannette is a freelance lecturer on comparative mythology, Indian philosophy, and the history of yoga. She is an author, engineer, world traveler, Kundalini Yoga teacher, and practicing yogini.
In addition to working at NASA for 30 years, she has over 27 years of experience in many types of yoga and meditation. She has studied Sanskrit and Indian philosophy at Rice University, the American Institute of Indian Studies in Pune, India, and at the University of Chicago where she earned her Masters degree. Her daily sadhana practice is firmly rooted in Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan.
